The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League website provides information about the teams and players in the league which existed from 1943 to 1954. 

The International Centre for Olympic Studies.  Located at The University of Western Ontario, the ICOS generates and disseminates academic scholarship dealing with the social and cultural study of the Olympic Movement.

The LA84 Foundation has a large, searchable sports research library.

The Library of Congress American Memory.  Includes historic maps, photos, documents, audio and video in the area of sports and recreation. 

The Negro Baseball Leagues is a resource for information about players, teams, and history.  

The Official Website of the Olympic Movement.

The Scholarly Sport Sites directory from the University of Calgary covers most areas related to Health and Human Performance.

The Sporting News Archive.  Established in 1986 as part of The Sporting News Publishing Company, The Sporting News Archive provides reference service for the staff as well as the public.

 

Athletic Training

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is a lifelong orthopaedic learning source.

The Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT) is the first U.S. hospital-based facility dedicated to the study of sports medicine.

 

Recreation and Leisure

The Serious Leisure Perspective includes a bibliography of new publications and a digital library of full text papers on subjects related to serious leisure.

The Therapeutic Recreation Directory is a resource for therapeutic recreation professionals. 

Recreation.gov is a one-stop site for all federal recreation experiences on public lands.

Gender Equity in Sports.  The University of Iowa provides interscholastic and intercollegiate sport information.

The Womens Sports Foundation provides news and information about Title IX.

The Melpomene Institute, founded in 1982, helps girls and women of all ages link physical activity and health  through research, publication and education.

The National Association of Girls and Women in Sports is an organization that addresses issues and opportunities for girls and women in sport.

Healthfinder.  An award winning federal website for consumers that was developed by the Department of Health and Human Services and other agencies.

International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP): Health LinksA gateway to more than six hundred websites for health professionals and medical library communities.
