Rush, Expedite, and Priority Orders
- RUSH – A rush request is specified by the Selector as an item needed
as quickly as possible. These items are processed by the
unit within one working day from the receipt of the request. Please note that
RUSH requests may incur extra costs (Rush shipping,
for example). All items received after 1:00 p.m. are processed the following
day.
- EXPEDITE – Expedite items require immediate processing. These may
include “out of print” items that are being held by a vendor
for a Selector or items that have a special sale or introductory price that
will expire on a specific date. The unit will process these
items within one working day of their submission to the unit. Expedite orders
will be processed before other orders.
- PRIORITY – Priority items are items that the Selector wishes to obtain
for the Library ahead of their other normal requests. The
unit processes these items within five working days of submission to the unit.
- RUSH, EXPEDITE, and PRIORITY items must be ordered in Aleph. YBP slips
(yellow) and Lindsay slips (blue) that are
marked “Priority” by a Selector may be tagged in Gobi.
- Special handling orders are designated in Aleph in the tickler field. Type
in the applicable fund code followed by a space, then
type the status of the order (RUSH, EXPEDITE, or PRIORITY) and type another
space before the backslash.
