The Art and Life in
Africa Project at the University of Iowa's Obermann Center for Advanced
Studies provides numerous images of African art, rotating three dimensional
pieces so you can develop a sense of their presence in and use of space.

"The center provides exhibition space and curatorial focus for

- Re-Cover, Re-Imagine, Re-Adapt: Creative Recycling from Africa
is an online exhibit
of African art (similar to many of the self-made children's toys found
throughout Africa) presented as art by the York County Culture &
Heritage Commission of South Carolina. "Featuring more than 150 delightful miniature vehicles created by
African artisans from discarded materials."

- The Amistad Research Center
An independent archives, library, & museum dedicated to preserving
African-American & ethnic history and culture.
- Arte Africana is an Italian
publisher with a web site that includes an extensive bibliography.
- The Bayly Art Museum at the University of Virginia provides and African
art related electronic
exhibit catalog.
- "The Blakhud Research
Centre, founded in 1994 by Dale H. Massiasta, is a private non-profit research institution dedicated to
promoting studies and research in Black African culture and civilization."

- The Kelsey Museum of Archaeology
at the University of Michigan presents Ancient
Nubia: Egypt's Rival in Africa. This exhibit was organized by
the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania. An additional
installation of archive photographs from the collections of the Kelsey
Museum depicts the construction and early history of the first Aswan
Dam, and serves as a preface to Ancient Nubia: Egypt's Rival in
Africa.
- The Mission Archéologique
et Ethnoarchéologique Suisse en Afrique de l'Ouest, from the
Natural History Museum of Geneva provides an exhibition on women and
pottery among the people of the Niger Delta in Mali (in French,
includes a recent bibliography on their academic ethno-archaeology
work).
