Contributed Cataloging Section
2000-2002 Throughput Study

· Difficulty of authority work

· Responsible for cataloging additional material not distributed by CBS

outsourced titles (we have to review the record and complete holdings)
          grant related cataloging (e.g., SOLINET)
material distributed directly from Serials Cataloging

· Cooperative cataloging - reviewing other catalogers' work

· Cataloger needs to confer with other catalogers to complete cataloging record

· Cataloger determines that material is low priority to catalog when distributed and postpones cataloging

· Cataloger determines that material is high priority to catalog when distributed and catalogs before other material

· Cataloger passes material on to another CC unit or Serials Cataloging

· Other demands on cataloger time

          committee work
          meetings
          record editing
