Gifts Program
The gifts program is located on the 4th floor of Smathers Library East and is managed by the Acquisitions Department of University of Florida Libraries. This program oversees incoming gift materials and the Smathers Library Bookstore.
The program is responsible for accepting, distributing, and routing a large amount and variety of gift materials donated to the libraries. In FY 2008/2009, the program accepted and processed over 14,000 monographs and about 1,500 serials, from which over 8,100 monographs and about 2,000 serials were cataloged and added to library collections. The remaining items were donated to other libraries, sent to the Smathers Library Bookstore for sale, or discarded altogether.
