Acquisitions and Licensing Department.

The primary mission of the Acquisitions and Licensing Department is to efficiently acquire materials in a variety of formats that support the academic and professional programs of the University of Florida. The department consists of four units                  (Monographs, Paying, Serials, and Electronic Resources), with each unit expertly staffed and dedicated to a specific set of responsibilities. The units function together in a team environment to continually engage in planning and implementing initiatives.

A few notable responsibilities by Acquisitions & Licensing staff include managing license agreements; developing new software programs and macros to enhance technical services workflows; tracking usage statistics; doing reclassification and shared copy cataloging of serials, standing orders and series; overseeing a domestic virtual approval plan; monitoring large materials budgets and paying invoices using EDI file transfer; receiving gift monographs; managing a large academic Exchange Program, among a multitude of other important activities.
