Saturday, January 29 we were at one with the hottest band
in the land, KISS
Friday, December 10 we played the Grand Opening of the new downtown location of Spin Cycle! The celebration rocked with a BMX Stunt Demo followed by food, drink & bands!
Thursday, December 2 we rocked Eddie C's Pub with the Guido Incident!
ALLSTAR 69 was armed & ready to fire on Sat. July 31 at Rumors Tavern! The opening act, Full Rebel Jacket, hailing all the way from mighty Hotlanta, got the fire started with their heartfelt southern lyrics and stompin' redneck rhythms. ALLSTAR 69 carried the torch and kept the fabulous Rumors Tavern hotter than hell, blazing through a thunderously long set of glampunk-rock-n-roll, as only we can do!

ALLSTAR 69 teamed up once again with the inimitable

For those of you heavily into power rock, you're lucky you caught ALLSTAR 69 on Thursday, March 11 - at Eddie C's with recently reformed punkmeisters,

ALLSTAR 69 had theyselves a 'sexy swimin' hole, whiskey rock-n-roll pawdy' when they rocked the Sabine's Summer Picnic on June 20, 1998 at Blue Springs in High Springs, Florida!! We was WILD!! ALLSTAR 69 played a rip-roaring set at the DownLo on Saturday, June 13 with local skatilites, The Usuals. The show was a unique blend of styles which worked well together. Much thanks to Noi from the DownLo for setting up the show! ALLSTAR 69 played a short set at Doc Garret's Sunday Jam Night at Eddie C's on May 31, 1998. We met some new bands - Deep & Summation - and blew Paco off the stage!! ALLSTAR 69 made their Cowhaus debut on May 14, 1998. We got the night swingin' with a raucous set - and Syrup followed it up with their sweet brand o' rock-n-roll! Gainesville's own Gritkisser ended the night with a sloshin' surfabilly tour de force! ALLSTAR 69 joined forces with their northern neighbors, Syrup, at Slim Bullfrawg's Birthday Jamboree and Freedom Parade in Tallahassee on Saturday, April 25. We put a road trippin' convoy together and put the pedal to the metal - and had ourselves a ROCK-n-ROLL PAW-DY!! ALLSTAR 69 got a last-minute invite to play with their kissin' cousins from Tallahassee, Syrup - after the Jacksonville-based band, Rein Sanction cancelled what was touted as their CD-Release show on April 4, 1998 at the Covered Dish. Along with fellow Gainesvillians, Mower, the house was, indeed, ROCKED!!
Despite a series of technical snafus that might have diminished a lesser man - ALLSTAR 69's lead guitarist, FreakNastyStar, was positively freaky & nasty as he shred the stage as the "Pigboy"! See live animal acts!! See the Pigboy live onstage!! ALLSTAR 69 shook the soul of Gainesville's Emocore Emporium - the Hardback Cafe' - on Saturday, March 21, 1998. This show was organized as part of "97X Appreciation Night" - to help publicize the recent sale of this local radio station and it's probable changeover to a Top 40 format. It was also going to mark the return of local punksters, Crashpad, but, due to illness, they were unable to make the show. Every Single Day opened, followed with a rip-roaring set by Gainesville's glitziest glampunks, ALLSTAR 69! With the help of the their ultra-talented light technician, Julie (aka "Trippin' the Light Fantastic Star"), ALLSTAR 69 bedazzled the crowd with a fog-induced, kaleidoscopic menagerie of sights and ROCK that kicked ass!!! Popular opinion holds this show as our best yet! ALLSTAR 69 made their Covered Dish debut with their new, rippin' lead guitarist, Mike "I-used-to-have-the-'ZZTOP'-thing-going-but-I-shaved-the-hillbilly-beard and-left-a-goat-tuft" Hetrick on February 12, 1998.
ALLSTAR 69 & Claude Pepper Blues Explosion played an impromptu set on Jan. 29, 1998 at Munegins Jam Night! We woke up the Munegins' regulars with a blistering 3-song set that introduced our new lead guitarist, Mike "GRINCH" Hetrick to the crowd. With Mike on board providing the wicked, crunching metallic leads, ALLSTAR 69 is sure to continue to spread their infectious glitter-ladden hot rock throughout the land!
Hey! New surprise pictures of the Springs Gig !

Despite an untimely accident rendering Deb unable to play rhythm guitar due to a broken arm (but quite capable on tamborine!), the show went on. Unbeknownst to us, this was our last gig with Russ & Tom.
